At last! Finally! After waiting and praying for rain all summer, we have finally been rewarded. When we arrived back at the farm on Wednesday of last week, we found 4 inches of badly-needed rain in the rain gauge. We received another couple of inches over the weekend, then yesterday the heavens opened and another 2 inches fell as the season's first cold front worked its way into North Central Texas.

This morning, the thermometer registered a delightful 54 degrees.

We were finally able to take our morning walk without sweating, and were happy to see our stock ponds filling from the runoff.
