Shortly after ringing in the new year, our thoughts turn to the upcoming Texas Sheepdog Association Winter Trial Series. Most of the dog trials in our part of the world take place between mid-fall and late spring, because temperatures get too hot for the dogs and sheep to work safely. This year, Dutch and Meg competed in almost all the trials for open dogs, so it was a very busy February and March. Unfortunately, we had to skip the HR New Years Shootout SDT and Fort Worth Stock Show arena trial because of Meg’s young pups, but the field trials followed in quick succession. I won’t attempt to give a run-by-run account, but here are some of the pics from the competitions.
