Custer, SD #4

Last Tuesday we said goodbye to our RV park neighbor, Susan Drinkard, and her "boys," Copper and Rebel who have been good buddies of ours for the last month.

Then, on Wednesday we joined our friends Pat and Mike and Gregg and Bonnie at Pat and Mike's place for a farewell happy hour. Here they are (Pat and Mike in the middle) in front the house, which looks just great with its new front porch.

And here are the McFalls' motor home and Gregg and Bonnie's fifth wheel and truck all packed up and ready to go. We hope to see everyone next summer. In the meantime, you can keep up with Mike and Pat on their blog, http://mikepatstravels.blogspot.com/.

Our last couple of days were spent driving around to see the fall colors, and doing some more fishing. Here are some photos from those activities.

Nickie at the Fish Hatchery

A beautiful 3-ft. rat snake (I was about to put my hand on this branch for support...and then I saw her eye!)

And a few minutes later, her 4-ft brother was sunning himself on the path
But I caught this beautiful trout...and 3 others!

We had a wonderful time in Custer, and were especially happy that Mike and Pat recommended Custer's Gulch RV Park and Campground. Here is a photo of our rig in its place...and we hope to be back next year.
