Congratulations, Mallory!

June has been a memorable month for several reasons, and at the top of the list was Mallory’s high school graduation.  We have watched her grow into her teens, into high school, into her first car and job, and now she is easing gracefully into adulthood.  She is now an honor graduate of McCallum High School, and the recipient of several scholarships and grants. We are so proud of her poise and grace, of and all she has accomplished!  Her freshman year at The University of Texas at Austin should be exciting as well.

To celebrate Mallory’s graduation, family came from far and wide.  Including John and me, there were four sets of grandparents represented.  Eleene was there from Santa Ana, TX. Pam and Reed came from Michigan, and Trenton and Barb joined us from Colorado.  Also traveling from Michigan were Mallory’s dad, Mark, and his wife; her Uncle Brian; her Aunt Heather and several cousins.  From the Austin area, Uncle Robert was there, along with her Aunt Cindy and a couple of additional cousins, as well as Myles, of course, and Gage.  There was even a surprise visit from Brian’s brother, Brian, who just happened to be in town from California.  (Do you think that’s enough Brians?!)

Following graduation ceremonies on Thursday, Brian and Debi hosted a celebratory lunch at Matt’s El Rancho, where we all toasted Mallory and chowed down on some of Austin’s best Mexican food.

Then, on Friday John and I welcomed everyone to our home for a luau-themed pool party and BBQ.

Mallory and her relatives were joined by Mallory's boyfriend, Daniel, and her good friend, Tory.

We had a great time, and couldn't have wished for better weather or a more congenial group of celebrants!  Congratulations, Mallory!  We'll look forward to celebrating your college graduation in a few more years.
