Welcome "Home"

Our first couple of days here in Phnom Penh were spent getting past the dreaded JET LAG.  We did recover quickly enough to celebrate New Year's with Jimmy,  Nine and their nephew and his family.  Nine prepared a wonderful, traditional, New Year's of ham and all the trimmings, including cornbread and of course blackeyed peas!

January 2 found us getting reacquainted with Phnom Penh.  It felt like coming home, especially when we went to Phsa Thmey (Central Market) for a traditional breakfast of pork blood soup and a stroll among the vendor stalls.

This time, we weren't nearly as anxious about the city's body-to-body and bumper-to-bumper traffic as we were last year.  Even our tuk-tuk driver's occasional unanticipated U-turns hardly interrupted our conversation.

  1. Great color. Isn't it amazing what we can get used to. Enjoy more this year than last! You'll not have the anxiety.
