Cambodia Bound

Happy New Year, Everyone. We are beginning 2013 with another visit to our good friends Jimmy and Danine Jacks in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2013 and hope to spend time with each of you before the year ends.

Morning came extra early on December 30. We were up by 2:00 a.m., at the airport by 4:00 and in the air before 6:00 with the lights of Austin glowing beneath us.

Three and one-half hours later, we raced the sun into Los Angeles and over one of its infamous freeways (almost deserted on a Sunday morning).

Then came the loooonnnng flight over the tip of Alaska, and across the international date line to Seoul as we tracked our progress on Asiana Airlines' personal monitors.

The winter wasteland of Korea gave way to Seoul Incheon International Airport and a breakneck sprint to catch our connecting flight to Phnom Penh.

After just over 5 1/2 hours, we touched down and were met by Jimmy Joe. We made it to Jimmy and Nine's apartment just in time to wish them a very Happy New Year!

  1. I'm eager to see your shots. Glad you survived the long flight but I'm sure the trip will be well worth the effort.
