Girlfriends' Get-together 1-- Austin

We had a lovely spring in Austin, and were able to share part of it with our good friend, Eugenia.  Unfortunately the pleasant temperatures didn't come with much rain, and our beloved Lake Travis, seen here from The Oasis restaurant, is approaching all-time low water levels.

Eugenia spent some of her time with her son and his family, and with other Austin friends.  She also graciously dog-sat while we traveled to Lake Jackson to visit John’s mother on Easter.  Here is Eugenia with the Bagley Pack when we went walking at Turkey Creek Nature Trail.  It’s an outstanding off-leash dog park and one of my favorite places near Austin.

We also went in search of bluebonnets while Eugenia was in Austin.  They were few and far between due to the persistent drought in Central Texas.  We did have lunch at a great sandwich shop, Thyme & Dough, in Dripping Springs on our way to Johnson City and points west.  The restaurant shares its outdoor space with an adjacent garden shop where I found this lovely blossom.

There weren’t many photo ops, but we tried to capture a good shot of this Johnson City attraction.

We did have lots of good “girl time” on the road and just hanging out in Austin.
